born in The Field, Texas in 1952 Larry Callies Life begins when the veil of the apartheid era has been lifted, an unregulated racial divide offered few opportunities with harsh restrictions and constant struggle with the rise of civil rights and the empowerment of blacks.
This must-read story shares an insight into Larry’s unwavering determination, unyielding compassion, unyielding stubbornness, and unmistakable kindness that Larry cultivated while growing up in a separate area. Southeast Texas Over three decades on the farms, they sang Country Western songs at the then-separate Gili nightclub with an all-white Gili band, and life-threatening bull writing jobs.
Together, the reader will experience Larry’s dream as it unfolds and takes different forms through influences in his life from his cowboy father, Christian mother, and famous cousins to community members and famous singers, to his final tragedy when Larry was diagnosed with vocal dysphonia and eventually ended his nascent singing career.
