Chris Hughes and his golfer girlfriend Annabel Dimmock were traumatised as they discovered a mouse had found a way into their home on Thursday.

Chris, 28, took to his Instagram stories to update fans on the unexpected visit, while a squeamish Annabel 24, struggled to contain her nerves as the rodent hid out in their lavish home.

The Love Island star, had his own DIY ideas on how to escape from the vermin as Annabel showed her other half laying down some yellow masking tape to cover the door gap to protect her from their new tenant.

Later on that evening, TV personality Chris went on to place two mouse trappings in their stunning kitchen, saying ‘just in case there’s a family of them’.

He then goes on to grab some cheese for their fridge to nibble on while Annabel hilariously accuses him of eating their ‘pets food.’

Appealing to his 2.1 million fans, the TV presenter asks his followers advice on what is the best food to get the ‘mouse tut of his hole and to capture him?’

His other half suggests peanut butter, however – Chris playfully replies asking his golf pro girlfriend had she ever seen Tom and Jerry – making reference to the fact the spread was never used in the cartoon.

Later in the evening, a petrified Annabel sits in their living room with her hands over her face freaking out saying ‘oh my god, oh my god’, as Chris replies ‘we’ve got take off, we’ve got a result’ – referring to the news that the mouse had indeed been caught.

However, Chris himself ends up being scared and struggles to go and see the mouse on the trap.

Successful in their capture, the social media personality goes on to upload a scoreboard confirming the result with 1-0 written on it – with the 0 referring to the mouse’s demise.

The incident comes as Chris was involved in a horror car crash last month.

He was rescued by two members of the public and managed to escape with just a sore neck.

The Love Island star had shared horrifying footage of his smashed-in car on Instagram and told his followers he had suffered a ‘sore neck’ following the collision.

A spokesperson for the star confirmed to MailOnline at the time that no other injuries were suffered by either Chris or anyone else on the motorway.

The statement read: ‘On Sunday evening Chris Hughes was traveling to Hertfordshire when he hit a floodplain and his car turned around. No injury was caused to Chris or anyone else traveling on the same road.

‘Chris is very grateful to the roadside assistance and emergency services who attended the scene to help.’
