For two years, due to the lack of a manager due to the pandemic, Camping du Lac has again become a management run of mine camping site. This year, with the support of his partner, Etienne Grimont has led the torch in the public service delegation since mid-April. New developments have been implemented to make the building more enjoyable and functional, particularly with the creation of a restaurant area. A brand new kitchen has been created in the former reserve, and the hall converted into a restaurant terrace. Meals are served to vacationers in the evenings since July 1, the kitchen is family-run, based mainly on local produce, and people outside the camp can also eat there, but only by reservation. Last Thursday, a small inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Michel Masset and Patrick Yoon, respectively, the Mayor of Damazan and Saint-Pierre-de-Posay, the municipal council and employees of the municipality of Damascus, the companies that contributed to the work.
The camp site has all the criteria to be chosen as a 3 star camping site. It should be official soon. “This certification will be a very important step. As a result of several years of work, it should bring added value and better visibility to the camp site,” stated Michel Masset. “We have already welcomed Americans, Dutch and Italians, and with these three stars the camp site will have an international reputation,” says Etienne Grimont whose camp site resumption should be a long-term one. It is already planning other developments for the next season, notably the re-installation of tree houses, a type of accommodation that is in high demand by tourists. Located between Damazan and Buzet-sur-Pais, on the edge of Lake de Molino in the quiet shade of oak trees, the campground has 52 playgrounds that can accommodate tents, caravans, and caravans. Close to the canal and its green road, the camp site is easy to access for hikers and cyclists. There is a standard and safe playground for young children in a gated fence. On the other side of the lake, a bathing area is marked and supervised by a lifeguard in July and August, as well as an inflatable structure on the water and a waterslide lift operated by Cascade Waterpark. Camping du Lac will be open until October 20.
