Van Leeuwen Ice Cream sets up shop in West Village

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the nationally recognized brand known for its made-from-scratch dairy and vegan ice cream opened last Saturday in the West Village at 3699 McKinney Avenue, located on the south side of the complex between Kendra Scott and Hugo’s. The store provided all-day, $1 scoops with exclusive Van Leeuwen-branded swag to its first 100 customers.

Celebrated with its unfussy spirit and use of simple, high-quality ingredients, Van Leeuwen is manufactured and distributed in Brooklyn, New York, where the company started in 2008 as an ice cream truck. With more than 30 flavors of ice cream, including vegan options, Van Leeuwen has grown into stores in New York City, Los Angeles, Houston and Philadelphia with a Dallas location soon opening as a 30 store. Pints ​​of Van Leeuwen can also be ordered online and can be found at Grocery stores such as Texas Central Market and HEB.

In the tradition of creating a limited edition and exclusive flavor for every new ice cream shop, Van Leeuwen will debut Strawberry Margarita, made with Ego Tequila, a Fort Worth-based women-owned tequila brand. Visitors can enjoy a cocktail-inspired flavor at the West Village location while supplies run out.

In addition to scoops of ice cream, Van Leeuwen will also offer ice cream sandwiches, root beer floats, sundaes and milkshakes with a variety of toppings available, such as hot fudge and homemade whipped cream. The store will also reveal four special flavors each season that are available in store for a limited time.

Atìpico will open next June

atypicalThe restaurant, which “constantly adapts to different lifestyles with a menu of creative dishes that is constantly evolving,” is set to open its doors in June at The Union Dallas. This Mexico City-inspired restaurant will open its first US location in Dallas with the goal of serving meals, bringing the community together and satisfying diverse dietary preferences.

The restaurant aims to expand and enhance atypical culinary experiences by adhering to its motto: “Be original + stay different”. Creatively reinventing international cuisine, Atìpico’s menu is constantly changing with traditional, keto, vegan, and gluten-free options, among other things. Putting a spin on the classics is Atìpico’s style and their premiere location in Dallas will add a unique dining experience to the local dining scene.

The Dolce Riviera reopens in the Dallas-Harewood area

Sweet Riviera It officially opened its doors again Thursday in the Harwood area. The establishment introduces new and classic menu items to coastal Italian cuisine with a modern twist.

Under the guidance of chef Taylor Kearney, classic menu items such as Burrata, Spaghetti Pomodoro, Porterhouse Bistecca alla Fiorentina, and Branzino are making a comeback. New menu items include Gnocchi al Genovese, Tagliatelle Nero di Sepia, Seared Kampachi and Meatballs.

Dolce Riviera has also incorporated a new concept called The Parlor at Dolce Riviera. It will double as a fine Harwood area fast food venue by day and transform into an intimate cocktail lounge at night. In the evening, The Parlor will serve up its own cocktail menu with signature drinks such as Smoky Parlor Old Fashioned, Prim and Proper Martini, and Italian 75 Aperitif.

The Dolce Riviera is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday at 5 pm with brunch served on Saturday and Sunday at 10 am. The Parlor is open for breakfast Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and open for cocktails Wednesday through Sunday at 5 p.m.

Sfereco offers $10 lunch specials

Severico Now offering a quick lunch special, which includes two slices of cheese or a pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and a soft drink for $10. Pizzas are constantly prepared to keep it fresh and hot and move quickly to reduce the wait time typical of the lunch rush in Dallas. The special is good from 11 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday.

At the Lewisville and River Walk locations in Sfereco, the Express Lunch Special includes 10-inch cheese or pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and a soft drink for $10.

This special is available for indoor or outdoor dining.

National Food Days

National Wine Day, which this year takes place on Wednesday, May 25th, celebrates all different wines on one special day. Cantina Laredo locations in Frisco and Addison will celebrate wine Wednesday with half-price wine by the bottle from 4-7 p.m. in the dining room and at the bar.

Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill Hosts Ziata Wine Dinner

The event opens with a cocktail hour and will feature a limited number of seats for social distancing. Reservations are required by visiting the restaurant’s website. The new scout site for Flower Mound features a new menu

The new Boy Scouts location on River Walk in Central Park, Flower Mound’s newest dining and entertainment area, opened Friday. Scout, which has its flagship location in the historic Statler Hotel in downtown Dallas, joins the MX Kitchen & Lounge of Primo’s, Sfereco, River Walk Chapel, and Reception Hall that have already opened on site.

The new Scout menu is a departure from the original menu with items like Bison Meatloaf Patty Melt, Pork Belly “Scooby Snack” and Braised Short Rib Stroganoff as well as more sports bar fare.
