Mr. Donald Harold Shaw, 84, a resident of Bellington and formerly of Mill Creek, departed this life on the evening of Monday 9 May 2022 at Mountain Living Community Assisted Care in Belington. The death came after a period of poor health.

He was born on May 18, 1937, in Mill Creek, West Virginia, the son of the late Harold Walton and Viola Esther Shevlet Shaw McCauley.

On February 28, 1959, he married former Mrs. Marin Gay Williams, who survived in Billington.

He was succeeded by one son, Kim Douglas Shaw, and his wife, Danita, of Milton, West Virginia. one daughter, Lisa Ann Hart, and her husband, Phil of Billington; four grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Hart of Billington, Heather Dawn Johnson and her husband Charlie of Jerusalem, Ohio, Benjamin Seth Hart of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Caleb David Shaw of Beavercreek, Ohio; Four great-grandchildren, Griffin, Madison, Caroline, and River.

Additional survivors include 12 siblings, Iona Hammonds and her husband, Eugene, of Mill Creek, West Virginia, Kenny McCauley, his wife Martha, of Warren, Ohio, Joanne Merellat, and her husband, Chris, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Troy McCauley and his wife, Bobby. , of Mill Creek, West Virginia, Gary McCauley of Mill Creek, West Virginia, Frances Flanagan of Richmond, Virginia, Bonita Miller of Blacksburg, Virginia, Lynne Lanham, and her husband, John, of Mill Creek, West Virginia, and Jerry McCauley’s wife, Diana , of Valley Bend, West Virginia, and Larry McCauley, wife Shelia, of Huttonsville, West Virginia, and Pam Barrickman, and her husband Chris, of Mill Creek, West Virginia, and Jeff McCauley and his wife Terry of Valley Bend, West Virginia.

Among the surviving in-laws are Marshall Williams of Mill Creek, West Virginia, Foster Williams of Harding, West Virginia, Johnny Williams of Billington, Rachel Lane of Ohio, and Jim Kelly of Alaska.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Catherine Kelly, Connie Weaver and Stephen McCauley. stepfather, James McCauley; In-laws, Thelma Beck, Ernie Williams, Forrest Williams, Carol Williams, Betty Diddy, Norma Bohon, and Carp Williams.

Donald attended Randolph County Schools and was a member of the Memorial Mission Church in Mill Creek, West Virginia. He previously worked at Lab Craft and finally worked as a coal miner at Carter-Roag Mining.

He was known to be a handyman around town. He was a great man, a great father and a great father and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be greeted by Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. St. When the last rites are held from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Randy Long.

Burial will then follow at the Fraternal Cemetery near Billington.
