Your journey will start in the captivating city of Cape Town where you will have the chance to explore the surrounding areas of this amazing city or simply unwind at your hotel, Southern Sun The Cullinan or similar. From Cape Town, you will then board Silversea’s luxury Silver Spirit for an incredible 15-night, all-inclusive cruise, where you can indulge in fabulous cuisine, exquisite personal service and unparalleled amenities as well as complimentary premium shore excursions.

Spend a day at sea before stopping at your first port of call, Lüderitz, on Namibia’s southwest coast, famed for its Germanic colonial architecture. Visit the art nouveau Goerke Hause built into the rock face on Diamond Hill, or the Lüderitz Museum exhibiting the town’s diamond-mining past and natural rich history. This will be followed by an enjoyable two days in Walvis Bay, a bustling port town that enchants visitors with its resident flamingos, pelicans and Cape fur seals.

Settle in for two days of cruising aboard a ship with one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the business. Silver Spirit blends first class facilities with world-class dining venues and polished entertainment, so you will find plenty of things to capture your attention while you cruise up Africa’s east coast.

Next, you will visit South Africa’s beautiful Mossel Bay, home to breathtaking views from the cliffs at Cape St Blaize Lighthouse. History buffs will enjoy joining the guided cave tour of the world-renowned archaeological site Point of Human Origins. Back on board, you can reflect on the day’s experiences over a pre-dinner cocktail at Tor’s Observation Lounge or take in the sunset at the Panorama Lounge.

Following a relaxing sea day, enjoy a two-day port of call in South Africa’s second largest city, Durban. You will have ample time to explore the rich confluence of Zulu, European and Indian cultures, admire the city’s backdrop of jagged mountain ranges, shop in the Victoria Street markets or enjoy a stroll along the Golden Mile – Durban’s beachside esplanade. You could even visit a traditional Zulu homestead for an exciting dance show in the Valley of 1000 Hills.

For the next two days, you’ll spend at Richards Bay. Nature lovers will have a range of activities: head to the nearby game reserve, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, home to the world’s largest white rhino population or visit the Richards Bay Park.

Spend your final two days at sea by the pool, sipping cocktails, unwinding in the Zagara Spa, or indulging in the many culinary options onboard.

After disembarking the Silver Spirit, you will spend two nights in Cape Town where you can visit Table Mountain via cable car, head to Boulders Beach to spend time with African penguins, or shop for souvenirs at the Watershed.

Guests enjoy a drink in the lounge car on Rovos Rail

You will then embark the luxurious Rovos Rail for a memorable three-night train passage traversing the South African hinterland to Pretoria. Settle into your suite before you join fellow travellers in the lounge or dining cars. With its open-air balcony, big picture windows, bar, sofas and booths, it has great mingling areas or quiet corners to while away the days. Off-train experiences include stopping into Matjiesfontein to discover its Victorian heritage, and Kimberley, a town rich with diamond mining history.

Guests view wildlife from the large balcony aboard the Rovos Rail

As a fitting finale, relish a three-night lodge stay in breathtaking Pilanesberg National Park with exciting daily morning and evening game drives tracking down Africa’s ‘Big Five.’ Bakubung Bush Lodge offers guests the perfect location for a safari stay they won’t ever forget.
