** BIG ATTENTION AND SPECIAL REQUEST ** Ice was delivered to the shelter when his owner left him with a ranger and never came back for him. At around 11 years old, there’s no doubt that Ace is one of the seniors shortly ahead of him. He deserves dignity and love during the time he left, and most of all, he deserves a home. It takes someone special to know they’re going to have a short ride with Ice, but we know they’re right there. Ice is a cute boy who loves to adventure alone; He is an independent type of guy. Ace enjoys being a pet and establishes his relationship before he finds out about his next good smell. Ace will love meeting you and showing you that he deserves a soft place to lay his weary head.

** BIG ALERT AND SPECIAL REQUEST ** At 12 years old, Bahama is a big man who lost his home when his family lost theirs. The Bahamas may have a little while, but wouldn’t it be great to be home. The Bahama has spent his entire life as an unloved male and has been used as a stud dog so living with another dog in a home can be challenging. Bahama is such a cute boy, and he has so much love to give! Bahamas walk gently on a leash and tend to tire easily, especially on warmer days.

** BIG ATTENTION AND SPECIAL REQUEST ** Lucas is a big guy who seems to have lived a difficult life. He arrived in November last year, his body tattered but his mind sharp. Lucas takes a while to warm up but once he’s got some good dents in the butt, he’s all yours. He walks gently on a leash and loves to talk. Lucas can howl a husky any day. Lucas would love the idea of the house being spoiled in; It does not need to be the only pet. Please consider giving this big boy a retirement home.

**Special Request** Mia is a 3 year old Mastiff and Lab Mix, who unfortunately has been living at an animal shelter for over 2 years. She is a clumsy dog that loves to play and throw toys. Mia is a big fan of going car rides and having fun with her favorite people! It takes a while to get used to strangers, but once you become friends with her, she will reward you with kisses for life. She will need a home that can properly introduce her to new people in a way that makes her feel safe. Mia would do better at home without any other pets or children.
If you are interested in meeting Mia, call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in a home environment, including a meet-and-greet room, dog run, and dog walking path. For more information, contact the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.
