Hunter Biden made a public appearance in Malibu, California, with his wife Melissa Cohen and their son Beau on Thursday after news that the outcome of an investigation into his financial situation had reached a “critical point.”
Hunter Biden has not appeared in public since his father, Joe Biden, won the presidency in 2020 and took over the Oval Office.
His family’s outing in Malibu follows speculation about an investigation into his finances and foreign business dealings.
Hunter Biden has been under a federal investigation since 2018, according to a source familiar with the matter.

A separate source told Fox News that the federal grand jury looking into Hunter Biden’s business dealings ended her last term late last month, but said no charges had been filed.
It is being investigated by Delaware US attorney David Weiss, Attorney General appointed by former President Donald Trump.

Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Hunter Biden was the subject/target of a grand jury investigation, according to a good government source. According to the source, “target” means that there is a “high probability that the person has committed a crime,” while “the perpetrator” is “someone you do not know for sure has committed a crime.”
The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was motivated in part by suspicious activity reports (SARs) in connection with suspicious foreign transactions.
