Records show that Joe Biden hosted a White House meeting with two Chinese energy executives with ties to his son Hunter when he was vice president in 2014.
The president, who still insists he never spoke to Hunter about his son’s overseas business dealings, met executives from Wanxiang — a major Chinese company — in the West Wing on July 25, 2014, according to White House visitor records.
The president of Wanxiang America, Pin Ni, and the president of Wanxiang Resources Co. , Youhong Han, has been in the White House for just over an hour — after a last-minute meeting was scheduled the day before, records first reported by the Daily Mail, it turns out.
A client of Hunter’s Seneca’s Great Point Energy partnered with Wanxiang in 2012 to build a $1.25 billion natural gas plant in China.
Hunter has also been linked to the Chinese company through his investment in Fisker Motors, which was purchased by Wanxiang in February 2014. Biden’s son had previously purchased one of Fisker’s electric sports cars for more than $100,000.
Four days after the Chinese businessmen met with Biden, one of the executives reportedly sent a streaming email to Hunter regarding his sports car.
“Last Friday when we visited DC, I heard that your Fisker is broken and cannot get serviced. Sorry,” Ni wrote in the email. “We are honored to fix your Fisker device… I’d like to contact you to see what we can do as the next step.”
“It is a great honor for us to welcome you to visit Fisker or Wanxiang at any time,” he added.
The meeting with Chinese executives is the latest in a long list of foreign associates Hunter has met with Biden during his tenure as vice president, according to records and details found in the first son’s infamous laptop.
Records showed that one of Hunter’s closest business associates, Eric Schwerin, made at least 19 visits to the White House and other official sites between 2009 and 2015 – including sitting in the West Wing.
Biden has also met Hunter’s business partners abroad — including in China in 2013 when he and his son traveled to Beijing aboard Air Force One for the vice president’s official visit with new President Xi Jinping.
Hunter’s dealings, which Biden continues to deny any knowledge of, are almost certainly part of the Justice Department’s ongoing investigation into the first son, which has reached a “critical stage.”
Biden, who has been accused of being soft on Beijing amid his son’s ongoing scandals and refusing to discuss his business dealings, faces growing calls from Republicans to include him in a conspiracy investigation as evidence continues to grow that he knew Hunter. Transactions – including in China.
In addition to meeting Hunter Partners, Biden has been identified as the recipient of a 10% equity stake in a company created for a joint venture with the Chinese conglomerate, CEFC. He has been referred to in emails as “the big guy,” according to former Hunter colleagues.
Since then, Republican lawmakers have vowed to hold congressional hearings after it emerged last month that Biden left a voicemail for his son in 2018 to discuss a New York Times article detailing Hunter’s dealings with a Chinese oil tycoon accused of economic crimes — and told him, “I think You are clear.”
