“Shurooq” announces the environmental retreats in the village of Najd Al-Mayser and the Sirai Pavilion of Khaled Bin Ibrahim House

Sharjah, May 10 / WAM / The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) captured the imagination of market leaders and emerging players in the region’s inbound and outbound travel industry, as it announced two new mega projects in the luxury hospitality sector. At the 29th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center until 12 May.

Alongside these global announcements, three of Shurooq’s latest luxury hospitality projects that make eco-tourism in the region more attractive than ever, have also made their debut in the automated travel market.

Elevating Sharjah’s position as the region’s leading destination for heritage-inspired travel, the first Shurooq project to make its global debut on the ATM 2022 stage is: The Serai Pavilion, Khalid Bin Ibrahim House – the 19th century pearl merchant family home in the heart of Sharjah district, which transformed Sunrise to a modern 12 key boutique suite at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel.

Launched by Shurooq in 2017 and managed by GHM Hotels, The Chedi Al Bait Hotel, Sharjah, is a 53-key hotel offering luxurious Emirati hospitality and customized experiences.

Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2022, the hotel will provide unique insights into traditional Emirati life, taking guests on a journey through the home of a family that has lived in Sharjah, as it were, for over 100 years. Besides world-class accommodation and hospitality, additional attractions for guests include access to the facilities of The Chedi Al Bait Hotel and access to the Souks of the Heart of Sharjah and heritage areas.

The second project that Shurooq revealed is the village of Najd Al-Maysir. Nestled in the mountainous terrain of the picturesque coastal city of Khorfakkan, the destination is being developed to provide a new opportunity for travelers and residents to experience the diverse landscapes of the emirate. With this ambitious project, 13 homes in the 100-year-old Najd Al-Maisar village, which were restored as part of a larger revitalization project at the Wadi Shi archaeological site by the Sharjah Infrastructure Development Authority “Mubadala”, are being converted into luxury homes. Seven hotel units have been completed, the 300-year-old Muqassar Castle, which offers a splendid view of the historic settlement from a height of 220 metres, a barbecue, outdoor areas and a mosque.

As part of the project, Shorouk will also develop 9 villas with private pools, private farm villas, hiking trails, horse riding trails, electric club car tracks and other attractions.

Shurooq’s leadership and innovation in the field of eco-hospitality was showcased through three major projects marking its fifteenth consecutive participation in the region’s leading travel and tourism event, and Shurooq also showcased three of its latest ecotourism projects, the Lux Mountain Resort – a luxury getaway. In Khorfakkan overlooking the Arabian Sea. Lux Postal Resort in Al Dhaid next to Sharjah Safari Park – the largest wildlife sanctuary in the region with 120 species; The Nomad – An enchanting trailer resort experience that Shurooq brought to the United Arab Emirates.

Offering the best in 5-star rating, Shorouk Al Jabal Resort, developed on the slope of Jebel Sweifa, offers 45 eco-friendly one- and two-bedroom units including simple and luxurious options, and a private royal suite complete with pool. The 187,000-square-meter project on the slopes of Jebel Sweifa will include a cliff-top restaurant, gym, children’s play area, reception and lobby, and is scheduled to be completed in 2023.

Shurooq is developing Lux Buridi Resort, a 5-star hospitality resort in Al Dhaid, Sharjah. The 35-room boutique hotel will feature 21 one-, 8-bedroom and 6 three-bedroom units, as well as a gym, spa, pool, restaurant and kids’ club.

The resort is scheduled to open in 2023 and is located adjacent to the Sharjah Safari Project – the largest protected park in the region and home to the world’s largest wildlife safari outside Africa. Shurooq is partnering with the Sharjah Environment and Protected Area Authority (EPAA) to ensure that the wild species living in the park receive the best treatment. The two entities will collaborate to coordinate unique interactions with the guest.

Once completed, these two destinations will be managed by the leading global hotel operator, LUX Collective, headquartered in Singapore.

The third project that Shorouk showcased at ATM 2022 is NOMAD by Mysk. A set of 20 fully equipped trailers designed to complement their natural surroundings will spread out on the sandy beaches of Hamriyah. The authority explained that Nomad will start welcoming guests later this year, who will enjoy an extraordinary getaway and an exciting range of water sports and other beach activities.

Misk of Shaza, who successfully managed and operates Shurooq’s “Sharjah Group” brand, was appointed to manage and operate Nomad and Najd Al Maysser Village. The two hotels join the Sharjah Group’s portfolio of distinctive boutique hotels and eco-resorts spread in prime locations across the emirate and have been designed by Shurooq to enable guests to experience unique and diverse experiences close to nature.
