The first modified cover for Toyota Hilux in India

Raised suspension and cosmetic adjustments give it a tough look

The pickup truck sector in India is still in its infancy and has not been fully explored by the automakers here. However, it is a chip with endless possibilities for modifications, and the Bimbra 4×4 has done just that. Depositors in Gurgaon specialize in customizing SUV’s with a wide range of accessories and performance products. Their latest project comes in the form of two modified Toyota Hilux trucks.

With the front bumper reworked and replaced with a Hamer king chain unit, and the ride height raised using a 2-inch lift kit, the aggressive look of this modified Hilux is undeniable. The front bumper now gets heavy-duty shackles along with integrated LED fog lights, front parking sensors, indicators and DRLs.

The rear bumper has also been reworked and now gets a Hamer Mx 204 block with a Hamer tow ball, integrated reversing sensors, LED reverse lights and a tow hook. The trailer has a Line-X overlayed bed liner and a Hamer warrior roll bar, topped with a spoiler for a sporty look. It even has an Aeroklas lockable luggage compartment with a capacity of 245 liters.

The suspension setup has also been reworked as part of the lift kit. So the Profender lift kit includes an upper control arm, front coil springs, adjustable gas shocks and additional leaf springs.

Turn to the side and the first thing you’ll notice are the BF Goodrich all-terrain tires wrapped around Fuel’s 18-inch alloy wheels. To make it easier to get in and out, Bimbra has outfitted it with shade side shades from Hamer. Other changes to the profile include door visors and chrome side mirrors.

The pickup truck even gets a Hummer guard kit under the chassis to protect the props when the going gets tough.

The spirit of both vehicles are identical. Suitable rugged pickup truck. The two share similarities, but there are a few different modifications like the Hummer Mx 201 rear bumper (compatible with reverse parking sensors), Hamer Sm102 side steps, Hummer titanium roll bar integrated with LED brake lights, Hummer automatic shutter with deck light Line-X underlayment. It also gets similar BF Goodrich all-terrain tires and a central locking tailgate.

The standard Hilux is offered with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel developing 204 hp, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission (420 Nm) or a 6-speed automatic (500 Nm), both paired with a 4×4 engine as standard.
