Top Car News Of The Week: New Hyundai Venue Launched, Audi A8 Facelift Coming Soon And More

The past week was chock-full of news about upcoming major launches from Citroen, Toyota, Audi and other carmakers. We got our first good look at the Mahindra Scorpio, and later, a glimpse at the Toyota Hyryder. For more of the major happenings that you may have missed out on last week, here’s our weekly news compilation.

Hyundai Venue Launched

The heavily updated 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift finally went on sale. It gets a revised, beefier front fascia and a sleeker rear end, alongside several other feature updates on the inside. Mahindra Scorpio N Interior Unveiled

Before last week’s teaser, we only knew about the Mahindra Scorpio’s interior from spy shots and other unofficial sources. Now we can confirm features such as an 8-inch Adrenox touchscreen, drive mode selector, built-in Alexa, single-pane sunroof, and 7-inch MID. For the prices of these amenities, you’ll have to wait until the launch on June 27.

Scorpio N 4Xplor Name Revealed

The higher-spec, 4×4 versions of the Mahindra Scorpio will be called the Scorpio N 4Xplor. The four-wheel drive (4WD) drvietrain will be on offer with petrol and diesel engines, in addition to tech such as terrain modes, low-range gearbox and hill descent control.

Toyota Hyryder First Look

We got a glimpse of the upcoming compact SUV from Toyota in a spy shot from a TVC ad shoot. Only the front fascia was partially revealed, showing distinct Toyota design cues such as a broad trapezoidal lower air dam and slim, chrome-lined front grille. The upcoming Hyryder will get 1.5-litre mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrains – the latter a first for the compact SUV segment.

Audi A8 Facelift Gets Launch Date

The European carmaker Audi will soon update its flagship sedan with a new facelifted version. The 2022 Audi A8 L features slick, modern-looking front and rear fascias and careful tweaks on the inside. It’ll arrive on July 12 powered by a 340PS 3-litre turbo petrol engine quick enough to get to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds.

Citroen C3 Automatic Coming Soon

The Citroen C3 is due for launch in Brazil, and teaser images and videos tell us it’ll get an automatic gearbox – an option the India-spec hatchback will miss at launch. travelling, we expect the Citroen C3 automatic will make it to India in the coming months.

International Updates

In a week bustling with news from overseas, Ferrari laid out its plan for the next four years, including its strategy for electrification. Hyundai took the wraps off a stylish MPV for Indonesia called the Stargazer that could make its way to India. In addition, a new EV startup from Europe went on sale with the solar-powered Lightyear Zero EV which can drive on without plugging in for months!
