(Oregon Coast) – Las Vegas-based travel company Escape Adventures has a large list of tours around the world with some interesting angles. Now, once again (after a two-year break), Escape Adventures is coming home, so to speak, with a 6-day bike tour of the Oregon coast. Escape Adventures has referred to the Oregon coast as one of the state’s “Seven Wonders,” going back to the promotional slogan Travel Oregon used several years ago. It’s also known as People’s Coast, but it’s mostly known for its 362 miles of publicly owned beaches that are free to all to access.
There are “cool sea stacks, sandstone cliffs, vibrant inlets, and rich ocean breezes. Far from the hustle and bustle of business, Coastal Oregon lends itself to unparalleled road cycling.”
Several small group tours are available in August and September starting at $1,599 per double. Customized and private tours are also available. For more information, visit https://escapeadventures.com/tour/road-cycling-the-oregon-coast/ or call (702) 596-2953.
Largely aimed at audiences outside of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, the company notes the area’s “pleasant disconnect” from business and noise. For those with that strong cycling aptitude who have never ventured into this part of the Pacific Ocean, this really would be a great overview and introduction.
“The Oregon Coast Bike Trail is one of the most fascinating routes in the United States, offering countless scenic views, striking legendary locations and unveiling some hidden gems far from the average tourist trail,” said Jared Fisher, CEO of Escape Adventures. .
The tour takes you on a stunning trail of nearly 180 miles – almost the entire upper half of the coast, from Cannon Beach to Florence.
Among the highlights:
Visit Cannon Beach, which is frequently mentioned in the national media and is the home of Haystack Rock.
Spend the night in Manzanita, a quiet and somewhat picturesque little village.
Cycling through the Three Heads Tour, which takes you through Cape Meares and its lighthouse, Oceanside, Netarts and Cape Kiwanda.
Hang out at Hartz Cove, a fairly secret little inlet near Lincoln City. Once in Lincoln City, the tour will include birdwatching in Siletz Bay.
You’ll also visit Newport and Yakuna Head, famous bridges like that and Dipu Bay, the Suislaw National Forest to Cape Perpetua, and visits to the summit where the stone shelter is. Nearby, you’ll see attractions all over Florence such as the Heceta Head Lighthouse – a building over 100 years old – and the Darlingtonia State Nature District with its unique insect-eating plants.
All inland grounds expenses and services are covered in the cost of the tour. Transportation, food preparation, meals (except as noted on itineraries), snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, group supplies, and community equipment (portable chairs, large umbrellas, coolers, utensils, etc.) are all included. Backcountry passes, licenses, park fees, reservations and lodging (accommodation), along with at least two professionally trained tour leaders, a mobile mechanical and first aid station, spare bikes, and a support vehicle(s) are also included. The price of the trip does not include airfare, accommodation prior to the start of the trip, rental of bicycles and/or camping equipment (if on a camping tour) unless otherwise indicated on the itinerary or website.
