Mahindra and Mahindra will launch the 2022 Scorpio-N, an upgraded version of the Scorpio SUV, in India on June 27. The SUV will also be offered with a 4×4 variant which was tested prior to launch.
Mahindra and Mahindra are ready to launch the Scorpio-N, a cosmetic version of the Scorpio SUV, later this month. The SUV, which will also be offered in 4X4 models, is undergoing final tests to verify its off-road capabilities. A new video has surfaced online in which the new Scorpio-N SUV is seen tackling off-road sections with a camouflage cover. The video, which was shared on Instagram, shows the off-road nature of the SUV in its new avatar.
The new Scorpio-N will come with both petrol and diesel engines. These engines include the usual 2.2-liter diesel engine and the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is also used in flagship SUVs like the XUV700, is likely to produce 168 horsepower. That would be nearly 40 horsepower more than a standard 2.2-liter diesel engine could generate. Even the 4X4 variant of the new Scorpio-N, which will come with the same diesel unit, will likely be less powerful than the gasoline engine on offer.
Both engines are expected to be offered with a choice of either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission unit.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV of its new generation has received an updated exterior design. It now looks even more pronounced with the new-look grille, redesigned hood, dual LED projector headlights, dynamic turn indicators and more.
The 2022 Scorpio-N facelift SUV will offer several features inside as well, as the cabin has also undergone major changes. Mahindra claims the SUV now offers best-in-class high-class driving seats. The new Scorpio-N SUV will also come with a large infotainment screen sourced from Sony, an improved flat steering wheel with installed controls such as cruise control and other features, a semi-digital digital head-up display, new upholstery, dual-theme tune, a 360-degree camera, and climate control. Dual zone, connected car technology, etc.
