What’s on at Blackpool Grand Theater in 2022 from laugh-out-loud comedy to murder mystery

Get ready for some serious drama coming to Blackpool Grand Theater this year.

The theater’s 2022 program of plays and shows covers a range of genres, from mystery and intrigue to hard-hitting and emotional storytelling and featuring some of the biggest stage stars.

In March there’s George Orwell’s poignant Animal Farm and and mystery drama Father Brown: Murderer in the Mirror in April.

Private and Peaceful, an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s novel for older children arrives in May, while Some Mother’s Do ‘Ave’ Em starring Joe Pasquale and Susie Blake will enjoy a run later in the month.

Dead Lies, apolitical thriller full of scandal and sexual indiscretion with a star-studded cast including former Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards completes the May listings.

To round-off the summer line-up, in June, the theater welcomes The Rise and Fall of Little Voice starring Shobna Gulati, Ian Kelsey and Christina Bianco.



The Grand Theater in Blackpool

It tells the story of partying, reckless mother and her quiet, shy daughter who has a beautiful singing voice and how their lives change when club promoter Ray Say comes onto the scene.

Hard-hitting, compelling play Twopence to Cross the Merseyfull of northern grit and charm rounds off the drama season in October.

Also, just announced for June 2023 is Agatha Christie’s classic whodunnit The Mousetrap arrives in Blackpool as part of the 70th anniversary tour, with the cast yet to be announced.
