Two years after the Fourth of July events were canceled or curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many are returning with great fanfare for the weekend.
Here’s a summary of key events in Brown, Shawano, Oconto, and Door counties as well as in Oneida. All fireworks displays will take place at dusk, sometime between 9 and 10 pm
Oneida Nation Bow Wow
The 48th annual Oneida Nation Pow Wow returns after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
The Wow Prisoner Gathering, where all nations meet and dancers showcase their dance styles, will be held from noon to 9 p.m. July 1-3. At Norbert Hill Centre, N7210 Seminary Road, Oneida.
Over the course of the three days, there will be dance and drumming competitions with over $91,000 in prize money as well as food stalls and vendors. The grand entrance ceremony will be at 7 p.m. July 1. 1 and 7 p.m. July 2; The 3rd of July appeared.
For the first time, the powwow game will include Saturday night fireworks.
Many COVID-19 precautions will be taken. Tents are not set up to maintain the outdoor environment, and more terraces are being added to allow the audience to spread out.
A Weekend Pass costs $15, and a Day Pass costs $8. Entry is free for people 5 years old and younger and 62 and older.

Food Festival fire over the fox
Festival Foods Fire over the Fox will be back in full swing from 3-10:30 p.m. July 4th. The fireworks returned last year after being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, but the all-day celebration was still waning. This year, all the festivities will return.
“The community has been eagerly awaiting the return of this event to its former glory,” Allie Thoth, On Broadway’s director of special events, said in a press release. “It’s one of the biggest events in downtown Green Bay, and it brings the community together for an entire evening full of entertainment and fun.”
The event will begin at 3 p.m. and will take place throughout downtown Green Bay with activities in Leicht Memorial Park, the Neville Museum parking lot, and along the Main Street Bridge and CityDeck.
There will be live music on multiple stages, food and drinks, family activities, bounce houses and more. The Waterboard Warriors, a water ski show team, will give a show at 4 p.m. The fireworks display will begin at dusk, between 9:30 and 10 p.m., and finish around 10:30 p.m.
Attendance at the entire event is free, but VIP seating for the Leicht Memorial Park fireworks is available for $12 per seat. Tickets are for sale at eventbrite.com.
Volunteers are still required to check the arrival of important guests, put bracelets on guests and pick up trash on the event grounds.

Bundwill Village Fourth of July Celebration
Bondwill will be holding her annual July 4th Gala on July 4th, starting at 11am with a parade.
The show will begin at Bonduel High School on West Green Bay Street and proceed east to Washington Street and then to Village Park, where the fun will continue with baseball games, live music, towing bikes for kids, and the many food vendors in Village Park.
The Nu Tymes polka dancer will perform from 1-5pm, followed by The Rejects from 5:30-9pm. The celebration ends with a fireworks display at dusk.
Shawano fireworks will take place at dusk July 3 at Shawano Municipal Airport and last about one hour.
Townsend 4th of July Celebration
Townsend will be holding its annual Fourth of July celebration starting at 11 a.m. on July 4 at the Front Street Fire Station. It will have artisans, food, beer, soda, raffles and music from 11am to 6pm
The parade will begin at noon and go from Front Street south to School Street, east to Pickerel Lake Road, north to Timber Edge Lane, and then west to Timber Edge.
A fireworks display will begin at dusk in Townsend Ball Park.
Sturgeon . Bay celebrates
Destination Sturgeon Bay will be holding its annual “Sturgeon Bay Celebrations!” From 5 to 10 pm July 4 in Sunset Park, 737 N. Third Ave.
Food and drinks will be available starting at 5 pm, Unity the Band will perform at 6 pm, and will perform reggae until the fireworks begin at dusk.
